Well, for the pastor couple of days I have been going to graduations. The first graduation I attended was Benjamin Armstrong's in Anderson, SC. It was as good as a graduation could go.
Tonight I went to the graduation at my home church where there were 8 graduates. I wanted to share a quote with you that I heard last night: "A man will work 8 hours for a good job and he will work 10 hours for a good boss, but a man will work all night for a cause." I thought that was a great quote and it really got me thinking about the work that we should be doing for The Cause of Christ. It is so easy to get lazy, discouraged, bitter and dissapointed when we start looking around at other people and forget that we are doing it for Christ. People all around the world live for their cause and work hard through thick and thin, whether it be for a family, job, hobby, sport, religion. But we have a much greater cause than all of these, we are living for the Glory of God and with such a great cause we will have great opposition. We should never forget to do what the Bible says in Hebrews 12:2: Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Jesus Christ had a cause, and saw it as a joy set before him to die on the cross for our sins, now lets live for him with a joy set before us as simple human beings that have the privelege and opportunity to bring Glory to His name.
Thank you so much for reading my blog and I hope that it will not bore you too much.
God bless,
David

Testing Picture Thing
I'm just trying to see how this works with the pictures and everything. I hope this posts correctly.
this is a picture that we took at the Catholic monastery in Arequipa with two guys that I took down to Peru. The blonde on the right is Robert Canfield, he is from Ohio and is studying in the Our Generation Training Center in Alpharetta and will be transfering over to BCWE Lighthouse in the summer. The guy in the middle is David Velke, he is a student at the Training Center as well and has plans of going to some country in Africa as a missionary. And the beautiful chick beside me is my wife that I love with all of my heart. I don't know who that lady in the back is, sorry.
Katie and I are doing fine, I lost my wallet last week, so I have been trying to get credit cards, debit cards, license, etc. taken care of. The driver's license is causing me some trouble because of some crazy problem in NC that I'm sure you don't wanna hear about. Anyway, we will be dropping into a church tonight and hope that it goes well. Thats it for now, take care.

Work At Church
We are getting everything ready at Lighthouse for the Faith Factor camp in the second week of June. Pastor Blackstock has asked me to help a little bit around the church property. I have been working on the slide at the church and I have definitely not been the happiest camper today. That slide is nothing but trouble, but I guess we need to do our best for these kids that are coming in to hear the Gospel and make commitments to Christ. Anyway, I guess I will vent some more tomorrow, I still have some work to do on the slide.

God is good
We didn't have a meeting this morning, so Katie and I went to a church here in Dawsonville, Ga. (Amicalola Baptist Church). Before Sunday School the Pastor asked me if I could preach in the morning service.
So I got to preach in the morning service and we had a great time. They gave us a wonderful love offering and I thank God for providing for us.
We'll be going to Vision tonight to help with the spanish/english service. I hope it all goes well. I don't know if anybody is reading this, but hopefully someone will start reading these things soon.
God bless,
David
